A train can completely transform your look, by changing the feel of your look from ceremony to reception.

The train is the elongated back portion of the gown that lies on the floor and trails behind the bride. After ceremony, most brides bustle the train so it’s no longer lying on the floor behind them. The bustle is opportunity for a bride to make another fabulous fashion statement. The longer the train the more intricate, and elaborate the bustle needs to be. Most of your celebration will be with your gown bustled so make sure that not only do you love it, but it’s secure and comfortable to move in.

Cathedral Length Train

This is the perfect train for a formal affair or for that fairy tale look. A cathedral train is long, 7 1/2 feet from the waistline and creates the most stunning bustles that are a work of art on their own.

Chapel Length Train

This is currently the most common train because it has the elegance of a full train but is not overly cumbersome. The train is 4 feet from the waistline, perfect for a semi-formal wedding gown and appropriate for a formal wedding gown as well.

Court Train

This train is slightly longer than the sweep, extending approximately 3 feet behind the waist. It creates a simple bustle that only needs 1-3 ties. This train is suitable for informal weddings.

Sweeping Train

This is the shortest of the trains and is also called a brush train because it just brushes the floor. The back hem is only a few inches lower than the front hem, making it extremely difficult to bustle. It is perfect for an elegant informal or semi-formal wedding gown. Since This train can not be bustled, make sure you are comfortable with having a small train your entire wedding day.
